Best student pub in Cardiff and a convenient stop from uni to digs or vice versa. Cheap drink, cheap good food, pool tables and good music. Great for watching sport. If you haven't got a ticket and you don't want to hit town, try this place.

Bright and lively weekend bar. Island bar serving food and drinks. Local DJs.

St. Mary Street,

Callaghans (1mins) Match Day Big Screen
At the foot of the hotel. Started life as an irish bar but theme has faded over time. First pub you will hit coming from Sophia Gardens coach park.

Castle Street, Cardiff.
Central (The) (25mins)
Probably the best of the four JD Wetherspoons pubs in Cardiff. Out of the way so should be less crowded. A good alternative to all the Brains pubs in the city.

Windsor Place, Cardiff.
City Arms (The) (1mins)
As traditional welsh as there come. Absolutely packed out on match days. Still I see people take more than 1 minute to get to the stadium when they come out legless.

Quay Street , Cardiff.
Cockerton (The) (20mins)
Part of JD Wetherspoons, atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Roomy and good food and drink.

Greyfriars Road, Cardiff.

Great grills. Trendy pre-match drink venue.

The Friary,

Steak and ale pie is lovely with a pint of Brains Dark and a favourite pastie shop is virtually next door, so no complaints here.

High Street,

One of Brains oldest pubs. Has not change much from old and that's a rarity in Cardiff.

  Hayes Bridge Road, Cardiff.

Come out of Cardiff Central Station and turn right. Walk 80 metres and you there at the bottom of St Mary Street.

Best pint of Guinness you'll get outside of Ireland. Loved by locals. Friendly.

Ha Ha Bar (20mins)
Spacious and a little up market. Some would say sparse. A bit pricey but good place for mixing and socialising.

The Friary Centre, The Friary, Cardiff.
Hard Rock Cafe (10mins)
Ok so the food is not that cheap but the bar prices are reasonable. Opposite the bar is a large video screen pumping out a selection of rock videos. Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey take their place on the wall of fame and that alone is worth a visit.

St. Mary Street,
